The Garnet: Corvinelli’s spacious new model home in Russell Trails

Corvinelli’s spacious new model home, the Garnet, in the growing community of Russell Trails puts the spotlight on style, efficient use of space and features that you might expect to be upgrades but are standard here. Russell, just 30 minutes to downtown Ottawa, blends tradition, small-town charm and modern amenities.

Type:
Two-storey single
Size: 2,722 sq. ft.
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 2.5
Key features: The Garnet is designed for family living with a blend of warm common areas and private space. The main floor includes a flex space that can serve as a separate dining room or a sitting room as well as a second area that’s perfect for an office. The first and second storeys are connected by a sweeping staircase, and the master bedroom features a generous, 4-piece ensuite as well as a large, walk-in closet. Like all Corvinelli homes, the Garnet exceeds Energy Star standards, which means both exceptional energy efficiency and comfortable living.

The great room with its cosy gas fireplace and bright windows is furnished for comfortable gatherings with friends or family. The wire-brushed hardwood floor features a casual, distressed look that also conceals scratches and the wear and tear of daily life.

The Garnet’s efficient kitchen has been upgraded in the model home with granite counters as well as a more modern stain and profile on the cabinets, says Corvinelli’s Krista Hubbard. The kitchen in this home also features a number of free upgrades: a stainless-steel stove hood, LED under-cabinet lighting and pot lights.

The curving staircase lends an elegant air to the Garnet’s main entryway and helps separate the front room, here furnished as a dining room, from the rest of the ground level. The second floor has five bedrooms, with arched windows in some, and a full, main bath. “There’s just enough custom features to make the home feel not like a production home and service,” says Hubbard.

Prices

At the time of writing, the Garnet started at $494,700. Remember that prices change; for current information, see our development profile of Russell Trails.
