Strutt House in Gatineau Park opens for tours

It’s known as Strutt House in Gatineau Park and it’s considered the signature work of mid-century modern architect James Strutt.

The home, built for his family in the 1950s, was a novelty with its unusual roof and pod-like spaces, and played host to prominent guests such as prime minister Pierre Trudeau.

At one time in danger of being demolished, the home was rescued thanks to an agreement with the National Capital Commission and the Strutt Foundation, which is in the process of restoring the home. Although still a work in progress, the home is now available for tours. Full story
