8 easy last-minute festive touches

Christmas is almost here and there are so many last-minute things to do. If it feels like the calm before the storm, it doesn’t have to.

Take a breath and read on. This article shares easy, quick, festive decorating touches that you can do to relieve some of your Christmas stress and add a bit of holiday cheer to your home.

A nod to nature

It’s always a great idea to bring some nature into your home, especially for the holiday season. Why not add a little touch of greenery to your vignettes?

Here’s a great example of how just a bit of greenery can add some natural beauty along with a pair of reindeer. And the twinkle lights add an extra touch of warmth. Notice how it seems like the reindeer are coming out of the artwork?

Why make extra work?

It makes sense to work around what you already have. This lovely display in the hutch stayed put, with the homeowners working around it with what they had.

By adding small wreaths and touches of greenery, the spirit and feel of the season was incorporated. After the holidays, they just remove the wreaths — simple and quick.

Fun nooks

Do you have a windowsill that needs a bit of Christmas love? Windows and their sills are usually forgotten during the festive season. Let’s show them at their best.  Gather a few treasures and display them for you and your family to enjoy.

Vertical space

I love this creative idea. Grab a branch and hang it over your window. Select some of your favourite ornaments and hang them with ribbon.

It’s such an easy and unique idea that you could leave up all winter and enjoy.  Perhaps add some mini lights to add that extra evening ambience.

A soft touch

Do you feel like you’re missing something in your Christmas decor? A festive cushion is a great addition in your space. It instantly adds that Christmas touch.

In the kitchen

Have you ever decorated your kitchen? I know it’s challenging when so much of our holiday season is taken up by cooking. If you have a counter or spot in your kitchen that you are not using, why not decorate it?

Here’s an example of a baking vignette that the homeowner created. It’s perfect timing for the holidays and such a cosy look.

Hallway help

Even your hall lights can have a touch of Christmas. Add some ribbon and ornaments to spruce up your space.

Double duty

Tiered trays are all the rage. They are practical and stylish, especially during the Christmas season. Get creative with how you style your tray.

Will you add some candles, greenery and Christmas decor? Or create a vertical hot chocolate bar? The possibilities are endless.
