The Clemow in the Glebe is a recently built rental apartment by KTS Properties that’s aimed at adults aged 50-plus who are looking to downsize with no-maintenance living while maintaining independence. Envisioned as an all-inclusive, hotel-style concept, the building is 16 storeys with 158 units and a plethora of amenities.

Q: Can you give us a summary of this project?
A: The Clemow is a purpose-built rental community located in Ottawa’s Glebe neighbourhood, at the corner of Carling and Bronson avenues. We built The Clemow to fill a gap we saw in the market.
The project was designed specifically for adults aged 50-plus, with a focus on independent living and a more service-oriented, maintenance-free lifestyle. It combines modern apartment living with a hotel-style experience, including services and shared amenities that support an active, social way of life.
We chose the location because it offers a balance of urban convenience and a quieter, residential feel, with access to parks, shops and major city routes.

Q: What makes this project special?
A: What sets The Clemow apart is its positioning. It’s not a traditional rental building, and it’s not a retirement residence. It was designed as a lifestyle community for people who still want independence, but with added convenience, social connection and support.
It also has 20,000 square feet of amenity space. Our lifestyle concierge offers excellent opportunities for social interaction, organizing a variety of leisure activities as well as cultural and sports events.

Q: What are the key features and finishes of the units?
A: The units are modern, bright and designed for comfort and ease of living. We prioritized quality materials and finishes, and each unit design has been thoughtfully planned, designed and executed. Each unit has a modern open-concept floor plan, floor-to-ceiling windows and an interior that creates a sophisticated, warm environment.
