If you have an eye for floral photography or simply like to snap pictures of flowers, consider entering the Stittsville garden club photo competition.
While you must be a member of the Stittsville Goulbourn Horticultural Society to enter most of the categories, there are a few that are also open to non-members. (Membership is $15 each or $25 for a family.)
Some of the 12 categories require photos from previous seasons – a spring garden, a summer garden at sunrise or autumn’s full colour, for instance – but there are also categories you can shoot now, like a winter scene.
The deadline to enter is Feb. 4. Entries will be judged for horticultural value, photographic value and appearance. Prizes will be awarded at the club’s meeting on Feb. 20.
