Seasonal farmers’ markets
Until October — Many of Eastern Ontario’s seasonal farmers’ markets resume as of May, often offering handcrafted decor along with fresh farm produce. Find a market near you through Farmers’ Markets Ontario.
One World Bazaar
Until Nov. 23 — From free cultural programming to an endless range of international artisanal goods, the bazaar is open for 10 weekends. Using fair trade practices, the event at the Bakker family barn near Manotick provides artisans with a living wage while forging connections between customers from Ottawa and area with a unique international marketplace. West End Studio Tour, weekend #2
Sept. 27-28 — Explore Wellington West and Westboro as it plays host to the 30th anniversary of the West End Studio Tour. Check out the works of several artists in various media at more than a dozen studios. Details.
New Edinburgh studio tour
Sept. 27-28 — Stroll, explore, and be inspired in the New Edinburgh neighbourhood on a self-guided tour of upwards of a dozen studios featuring resident and guest artists. Find ceramics, glass, painting, textiles, photography and more. Details.

Fall home show
Oct. 2-5 — For all your home improvement projects, visit the Ottawa Fall Home Show to see hundreds of vendors, get inspired and hear industry experts present on the speaker’s stage. You can also vote for the All Things Home People’s Choice Award as part of the Ottawa Housing Design Awards. Details.
Chelsea Wakefield tour, weekend #2
Oct. 4-5 — From painting to sculpture, functional and decorative ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, photography and glass, enjoy the beginning of the fall colour explosion as you tour several studios to see the works of more than 20 artists in the Chelsea and Wakefield area. Details.
Repair Café
Oct. 18 — The Ottawa Tool Library invites residents to drop in with a household item to be fixed or just to see all the excitement. There’s also a kids’ activity table, a selection of tools for sale from their webstore and snacks. This event takes place at Richelieu Vanier Community Centre. Details.
Household hazardous waste depot
Oct. 18 — Got household hazardous waste that can’t go to landfill — paint, fluorescent bulbs, pool chemicals, etc.? The city is holding a one-day drop-off depot at the Strandherd Snow Dump Facility on Philsar Road. Details.
Red Trillium Studio Tour
Oct. 18-19 — Discover a range of art forms from glass and pottery to painting, fibre and mixed media on the Red Trillium Studio Tour. Meet 29 artists and craftspeople across 11 studios in West Carleton, with opportunities to see live demonstrations and experience the creative process firsthand. Details.
RenoTour Parade of Homes
Oct. 19 — It’s a house tour with a twist. Explore seven stunning home renovations in person to check out the craftsmanship of top Ottawa renovators while getting ideas to inspire you for your next project. Find out more.

Final household hazardous waste depot
Nov. 1 — The city’s final one-day waste depot of the year will be held at the Westbrook Snow Dump Facility, 200 Westbrook Rd. If you’ve got household hazardous waste that can’t go to landfill — paint, fluorescent bulbs, pool chemicals, etc., this is any excellent way to properly dispose of it. Details.
Repair Café
Nov. 8 — The Ottawa Tool Library invites residents to drop in with a household item to be fixed or just to see all the excitement. It’s free and refreshments are available. It takes place at Zibi, 28 Booth St. Details.
$200 and under art sale
Nov. 8-9 — Find unique and affordable gifts of art just in time for Christmas representing many genres, styles and subjects. It includes only original works in watercolour, oil, acrylic, mixed media, coloured pencil and graphite and more by members of the Kanata Art Club. Admission is free and refreshments will be offered.
