Bridlewood Trails in Kanata South is a community by Claridge Homes that first launched in 2007. It features a mix of flats, two-storey townhomes and single-family homes tucked between the key arteries of Terry Fox Drive and Eagleson Road.
There are several homes to tour, a mix of towns and singles. Here’s what you’ll see when you visit the Bridlewood Trails model homes.
Cork
This two-storey single also serves as the sales centre. It comes with four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and 2,395 sq. ft. A mix of neutrals with a healthy dose of black, the home has an open-concept main floor with a separate office boasting double doors. A black kitchen and charcoal fireplace surround create a moodiness that’s then softened with light textiles and drapery.
Upstairs, the primary suite includes corner windows in both the bedroom and ensuite and the whole suite is separated from the secondary bedrooms by the staircase, laundry room and main bathroom for a sense of privacy. the basement features a spacious finished rec room.
Bethpage
Another two-storey single, this one is much more neutral than the Cork, with natural finishes and tones, like the stained wood kitchen cabinets. Slightly larger than the Cork, the Bethpage comes with 2,505 sq. ft. but also has four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
The open-concept main floor is tucked around the corner from the foyer hallway, which keeps the space private, and a handy mudroom provides handy access from the garage to the kitchen.
Once again, the primary suite upstairs is separated from the other bedrooms for privacy and one of the secondary bedrooms includes a walk-in closet. The basement is finished, but unfurnished.
Oakmont
The third two-storey single model is the Oakmont, a three-bedroom home with 2,290 sq. ft. and a single-car garage. It comes with a generous foyer and mudroom and an L-shaped living room/dining room/kitchen that is open concept but allows for a sense of separation for the living room, which also boasts a cathedral ceiling.
Upstairs there is the primary suite, two other spacious bedrooms, the main bathroom and the laundry room. Like the other singles, the basement is finished but unfurnished.
Wrexham
This two-storey townhome is one of Claridge’s largest towns with 2,340 sq. ft. (which is more than the Oakmont single) and three bedrooms. Available as an interior or end unit, the model is an end unit done in a mix of white, dark grey and other dark neutrals. It includes a main-floor office with French doors, open-concept main living area, a pantry wall and and electric fireplace.
It also shows more examples of wall moulding, including in the great room, the bedroom that’s done as a nursery and the primary suite. Once again, the basement is finished but unfurnished.
St. George
The St. George is a mid-size two-storey townhome with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and 2,075 sq. ft. It can also come as an end unit but the model is shown as an interior. Much lighter than the Wrexham, it boasts a white kitchen and other light finishes for a bright and airy space.
The main-floor layout is also slightly less open concept, with a partial wall dividing the kitchen from the living room and the kitchen from the dining area. But the breakfast area at the back of the home is open to both the kitchen and living room.
In this home, the laundry is in the basement to leave more room on the upper level for the bedrooms. And the model shows a developed staircase to the basement (meaning it’s open from above and finished to the same quality as the main-floor staircase) but the basement itself is unfinished.
Sussex
The Sussex is one of Claridge’s smaller townhomes with 1,835 sq. ft. Another interior unit, it still comes with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
This townhome is one that plays it safe on the main floor, with soft neutrals and lots of natural textures and finishes, but has some fun upstairs. Geometric tile in the bathrooms, a bit of drama in the primary bedroom with a dark and panelled feature wall and swooping, beaded chandelier, and a second bedroom showcasing an on-trend slat wall application all add some pop to these less public spaces.
The Sussex can also come as an end unit (the model is an interior) and, like the St. George, the laundry is in the basement.
Woodhall
The final model is the two-storey townhome the Woodall. This end unit is 2,180 sq. ft. with three bedrooms and 2.5 baths. In a departure from the other townhome models, this one has the stairs to the basement against the back wall and under the living room window, which allows more natural light to reach the basement. This home also boasts a walk-in pantry and the laundry is on the second floor.
Darker neutrals add a bit of moodiness to the home but the open-concept layout keeps it feeling light and bright.
