Lilythorne becomes newest development at Findlay Creek

Despite a crowded field of builders in the area, Claridge Homes has launched its newest development at Findlay Creek.

Called Lilythorne, the roughly 600-home project just south of Claridge’s nearly sold-out Sundance Village offers townhomes, two-storey singles and bungalows on 59 acres at Bank Street and Findlay Creek Drive.

There are nine builders in the Findlay Creek area, giving buyers plenty of choice in the rapidly growing community, a challenge Claridge is happy to embrace.

“We did very well in that location (with Sundance) and saw demand for another development in the area,” says sales and marketing manager Sandra Morello.

And given that the builder has been sold out of townhomes in the south end for some time, she says they welcomed being able to offer them again in this new project. Demand for townhomes in general has been strong for more than a year, leading to a shortage among builders.

About half of the first phase of Lilythorne is two-storey towns, with 154 lots available. Townhome plans are three or four bedrooms ranging from 1,620 to 2,315 square feet and a starting price of $383,900 at the time of writing. One townhome plan, the Carlton, features a double-car garage.

There are also 112 two-storey singles and bungalows in the first phase, ranging from 2,125 to 3,446 square feet on lots between 37 and 45 feet wide.

All of the homes are from Claridge’s recently launched Landmark Series, which draws from the builder’s most popular floor plans and includes several upgraded finishes as standard features. Those features include contemporary elevations, hardwood, quartz kitchen counters, smooth ceilings, glass showers, free-standing tubs in the master, and finished basements in both towns and singles.

Pitching Lilythorne as a new neighbourhood that is attractive to growing families looking to build a sense of community together, Morello also points out that as an already established area, there are plenty of amenities close by, including shopping, recreation, schools, parks, services and natural green spaces. It’s also close to both downtown and the airport.

First occupancy is expected in October 2020.
