Meaning of home contest
Until Feb. 21 — Habitat for Humanity wants to know what the meaning of home is to Grade 4-6 students. Bringing back its national writing contest, students are invited to submit a poem or essay explaining what home means to them. The grand prize winner will receive a $30,000 grant and the runner up gets a $10,000 grant. Both will also receive and iPad and a pizza party. Details.
RenoTour Parade of Homes (virtual)
Until fall 2025 — If you’re researching renovators for your own project, check out these 3D walk-throughs of Ottawa-area renovations, coach homes, additions and infill homes. They’re an opportunity to virtually see the work of several of Ottawa’s top renovators and in many cases include before and after comparisons and other details. Find out more.

Feb. 22 — The Ottawa Tool Library invites residents to drop in with a household item to be fixed or just to see all the excitement. Mar. 16 — Find vintage home decor and more at the biannual Ottawa Nostalgia & Collectible Show. More than 50 dealers and 100+ tables are yours to explore at the Nepean Sportsplex. Details.
Ottawa Home & Garden Show
Mar. 20-23 — Ottawa’s largest home show of the year combines hundreds of vendors, expert speakers, landscape designs and much more. Shop for home-related products and services, get inspired for your next home project and connect with industry experts. Details.

Signatures Originals craft show
Apr. 3-6 — More than 150 Canadian artists, artisans and designers gather for this annual event, offering handmade and handcrafted items including artworks and home accessories. Details.
Ottawa Cottage Life & Backyard Show
Apr. 11-13 — Meet dozens of exhibitors showing docks, builders, contractors, innovative building products, green solutions, decor and style, arts and crafts, food and entertaining, water toys and more. Details.
