What’s in the community

Located on the north side of the Ottawa River across from Ottawa, Gatineau is Quebec’s fourth largest city with a population of 291,041. Prior to European settlement, the area was inhabited by Anishinaabe peoples including the Algonquins. The current city of Gatineau is centred on an area formerly known as Hull.

The city is a culturally diverse one and home to several federal government offices as well as major attractions such as the Canadian Museum of History and the Casino du Lac-Leamy. Many working people, especially federal government employees, live in Gatineau and commute to Ottawa and vice-versa.

Domaine du Vieux Port is located at the northern edge of Hull, along the Gatineau River. Close to Hwy. 105, it’s a quick commute to downtown Gatineau and Ottawa, as well as a short bike ride to Chelsea, Gatineau Park and more. There’s also plenty of shopping, restaurants, schools, services, recreation and more nearby, including the Hautes Plaines golf course.
