Single-family homes, condos, townhomes and more — voting in the 2022 People’s Choice Award Round 1 is now open.
The All Things Home People’s Choice Award is a prestigious trophy given out at the annual Housing Design Awards — a much-anticipated celebration of the Ottawa housing industry’s finest in design that’s put on by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association.
As the only award voted on by the public, All Things Home is proud to sponsor the People’s Choice Award.
“We are thrilled to invite the general public to choose their favourite design through our People’s Choice Award,” says Linda Oliveri Blanchard, who chairs the awards committee. “The winner of this trophy is selected solely by the public, and it is always exciting to see which designs win this prestigious award.”
She points out that for most of the awards, entries are judged by professionals from across Canada in the architecture, construction and design fields. “However, seeing what speaks to our local citizens can be a very interesting way for members of our industry to determine what the public is looking for in terms of design esthetic and functionality.
“Many view this award as the coveted trophy of the night, as it draws thousands of votes from the public. We are looking forward to an exciting People’s Choice Award again this year.”
Over the next five weeks, you can vote online for your favourite entries in four preliminary rounds, with the finalists from each round squaring off in a final round to determine the winner.
Voting schedule
Round 1: Aug. 23-28 — production homes & condos
Round 2: Aug. 30-Sept. 4 — custom homes
Round 3: Sept. 6-11 — renovations, design details & innovation categories
Round 4: Sept. 13-18 — kitchens & bathrooms
Final round: Sept. 20-25 — choose your favourite from the top projects in each of the first four rounds
The winner will be announced at the awards gala Oct. 15 at the Shaw Centre.
