Beckwith is a rural township with about 7,000 residents located near Carleton Place and Richmond. It includes Mississippi Lake, parts of both the Mississippi and Jock rivers and historical hamlets. Located in Lanark County, it’s right in the maple syrup capital of Ontario. According to the township website, Beckwith “enjoys the services and amenities” of Carleton Place for the northern part of the community and Smiths Falls for those in the south.
