One World Bazaar

Weekends until Nov. 17 — The One World Bazaar returns for its 20th anniversary in Ottawa (and 43rd in operation) this fall. Combining cultural events with food from around the world and, of course, thousands of handcrafted décor, jewelry, clothing and more that is ethically sourced directly from artisans across the globe, the bazaar lets you “experience the world under one roof.” It runs weekends from a renovated barn in Manotick Station. CHEO Dream of a Lifetime lottery & show home

Until Dec. 13 — The Dream of a Lifetime lottery fundraiser for CHEO launched Sept. 4. From then until Dec. 13, get your lottery ticket and take a tour of the grand prize dream home, which is designer-decorated and fully furnished.

West End Studio Tour

Sept. 21-22 — See the works of 22 artists in 18 locations throughout Wellington West and Westboro. From acrylic, contemporary and abstract artists to printmaking, fibre art, glass art, mixed media and more, there will be a wealth of options to choose from to adorn your home. Details.

Ottawa Fall Home Show

Sept. 26-29 — Get inspired, get ideas and connect with the pros at the annual Ottawa Fall Home Show. Whether you’re renovating, repairing, maintaining or building your home, find everything you need under one roof. The show includes several experts presenting on the main stage — don’t miss headliner and HGTV star Bryan Baeumler! — with All Things Home co-founder Anita Murray hosting the stage. Find out more.

Chelsea Wakefield Studio Tour

Sept. 28-29 — Discover everything from painting and sculpture to functional and decorative ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, photography and glass at this longstanding annual tour. Twenty-five artists are taking part in the picturesque Chelsea are. Continues Oct. 5-6. Details.

Household hazardous waste depot

Oct. 5 — The City of Ottawa holds another one-day waste depot for household hazardous waste. It takes place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Conroy Snow Dump Facility, 3100 Conroy Rd. Keep household hazardous items out of landfill by taking part. For details on the program, see our article.

Repair Café

Oct. 5 — Keep your household items out of the landfill by visiting a Repair Café, several of which have been scheduled over this year, with the next being Oct. 5. These events are free and will feature volunteer fixers and menders from Ottawa Tool Library who will help repair items like electronics, textiles, small appliances, jewelry and more. Details.

Red Trillium Studio Tour

Oct. 19-20 — Enjoy a day (or two) exploring rural west Ottawa on this self-guided tour of several artist studios. Check the tour website for an updated list of the studios that will be included. Details.
