Common at Zibi in Centretown West is the first Ottawa-based rental building within the Zibi community. The 25-storey building, located on Chaudière Island in the heart of Zibi, takes an innovative approach to integrating co-living, affordable and traditional suites in one building.

What’s in the community

Zibi is part of the National Capital Region’s downtown core, straddling the Ottawa River and the Ontario/Quebec border. As part of both Ottawa and Gatineau, it is positioned close to just about everything, from Gatineau Park to museums, shopping and more. It is both transit and bike friendly and is being developed with a vibrant mix of residential, retail, commercial and cultural uses.

Gatineau is Québec’s fourth largest city with a population of 291,041. Prior to European settlement, the area was inhabited by Anishinaabe peoples including the Algonquins. The current city of Gatineau is centred on an area formerly known as Hull. The city is a culturally diverse one and home to several federal government offices as well as major attractions such as the Canadian Museum of History and the Casino du Lac-Leamy. Many working people, especially federal government employees, live in Gatineau and commute to Ottawa and vice-versa.
