Kinwick model homes

Originally built for Mattamy Homes’ Connections community, the models and sales centre are now available for the builder’s nearby Kinwick development, which straddles the border of Kanata and Stittsville, just down the road from the Canadian Tire Centre and the Palladium Auto Park.

There are three models to view, all two-storey townhomes. Here’s what you’ll see when you visit the Kinwick model homes.

Oak End

The Oak End is a 1,779-square-foot two-storey town that is, unsurprisingly, an end unit. Designed with a monochromatic colour palette that mixes in a few pops of teal, it has clean lines and both a formal dining room and breakfast nook.

Interestingly, the garage has been outfitted as part home office and part tool storage, with a window replacing the garage door.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, including the generous primary suite, and a good-sized laundry room with window. And downstairs, the family room is finished with a wall of shiplap (which is echoed elsewhere in the home) to add texture.

Fir

The Fir townhome is slightly smaller, with 1,450 square feet. A wide foyer transitions to the dining room and then the open-concept kitchen and great room. On a base of black and charcoal, there are hits of teal, mustard and orange, while the basement family room has fun with colourful accessories. There’s also a generous helping of geometric pattern, in tiles, wallpaper and flooring.

Upstairs, the primary suite takes up most of the back half of the home, while the front holds the main bath and the other two bedrooms, one of which is decorated as a home office. In this home, the laundry is downstairs.

Pristine Corner

The unusual layout of the Pristine Corner, where the garage is on one side and the front door around the corner from it, allows for a flex room at the “front” (done as a home office) and a more connected kitchen, eating area and great room at the back. It also means a square kitchen island and a pantry cupboard that separate the kitchen and the powder room, which is located in the main floor’s back corner.

With a main floor done in neutrals with pastel accents, the home has 1,763 square feet and is very bright, thanks to windows on three sides.

The layout upstairs is also a bit unusual, with a private primary suite and a computer alcove in the long hallway that leads to one of the two secondary bedrooms, which is done as a nursery. There’s also a generous laundry room with window.
