Multi-award-winning renovator and custom builder Amsted Design-Build offers a project in the 2026 RenoTour Parade of Homes that fits the homeowners’ lifestyle, both now and for years to come.
The two-storey home includes a finished basement and elevator for long-term accessibility. The main floor features a welcoming mudroom, main-floor powder room, spacious kitchen with a butler’s kitchen and walk-in pantry, family room and formal dining room. Upstairs, each of the bedrooms has its own ensuite.
The RenoTour Parade of Homes is presented by the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association (GOHBA) and RenoMark (a national program that identifies professional contractors who have signed on to a code of conduct that protects the homeowner).
This home is one of eight stops that can be visited in person on Oct. 18. There is no charge, although some locations may be collecting charitable donations.

Q: What made you decide to join the tour this year?
A: We always look forward to being part of the RenoTour Parade of Homes because it’s such a unique opportunity for homeowners. This year, we’re excited to be sharing both a renovation and a custom home.
What makes the tour so special is that finished renovations and custom homes aren’t normally open to the public. Photos are great but seeing it in person really helps you picture what’s possible for your own home. It’s an immersive experience for homeowners, and a chance to get inspired, ask questions, and see the details up close. And for us, it’s a fun way to show off the craftsmanship, creativity and care that our team puts into every project.
Q: Why choose this project for the tour?
A: We chose to feature this home because it beautifully showcases what makes a custom home so special. While it’s brand new, it already feels warm, lived in and uniquely personal. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, creating a home that’s as functional as it is beautiful. It’s also a great example of the craftsmanship, collaboration and attention to detail that go into building a custom home, making it the perfect home to share on the tour.
Q: What can you tell us about this project?
A: This custom infill was designed from the ground up around the homeowners’ lifestyle, both now and for years to come. The two-storey design with finished basement features a welcoming mudroom, main-floor powder room, spacious kitchen with a butler’s kitchen and walk-in pantry, family room, formal dining room, and an elevator for long-term accessibility.
Upstairs, each of the bedrooms has its own ensuite, while the finished basement adds recreation areas and a dedicated gym. What makes the project especially unique is the balance between luxury and livability, with thoughtful details, quality craftsmanship and functionality considered throughout.
Q: What kinds of things should visitors watch for when they tour the project?
A: There’s a lot to take in, but we encourage visitors to look beyond the beautiful finishes. Notice how the expanded height and detailed ceiling features create a sense of openness and grandeur, and how the natural light fills each space throughout the day.
