Ironwood is a development of about 500 townhomes and single-family homes by Cardel Homes in the master-planned community of Riverside South, where several builders are active and which has been under development since 1997.
There are five models to see, three two-storey singles and two townhomes. Here’s what you’ll see when you visit the Ironwood model homes.
This three-bedroom townhome lives like a single, with an open-concept main floor that’s bright and airy. It includes a 10-foot living room ceiling, white kitchen with quartz counters, luxury vinyl plank flooring and a finished basement rec room.
There’s also plenty of storage space, from the walk-in kitchen pantry to the oversized primary suite walk-in closet and generous basement storage room tucked under the main-floor foyer.
The Aspen is the largest of Cardel’s three townhome floor plans at Ironwood and comes with more square footage than some singles (2,263 sq. ft.). The main floor boasts a flex space, separate dining room and extra windows as an end unit.
The model showcases features such as hardwood on both the main and upper floors, gas fireplace in the living room, an electric fireplace in the finished basement rec room, double vanities in the primary ensuite and a second-floor loft.
This two-storey single combines a mid-century modern and vintage design esthetic for an eclectic feel. It comes with three to five bedrooms (there’s an optional main-floor suite and basement suite for multi-generational living), but the model shows the standard main floor featuring an open-concept front office and funky slat wall.
It does, however, showcase the finished basement suite with optional side entrance that can be used for a dedicated entrance to the basement, living room, kitchenette, bedroom, full bath and separate washer and dryer. Cardel is marketing it as a flexible space.
This two-storey single comes with just over 2,300 sq. ft., four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. It has a main-floor office at the front of the home, allowing for privacy in the rear for family living, and three of the four bedrooms boast walk-in closets.
The model shows optional features such as the bump-out in the office, the alternate kitchen and a Cardel signature — a two-storey great room with a full wall of double-stacked windows.
The largest of the models is the Grayson, with just over 3,000 sq. ft. when factoring in the finished basement space. The model shows the versatility of this home, showcasing the main-floor bedroom suite and basement bedroom for five in total, as well as the second-floor bonus room for an extra family room.
Other features of this model: nine-foot ceilings on the basement and second-floor levels, wet bar and family/games room in the basement, hardwood on both the main and second floors, a gourmet kitchen and more.
