Cardel unveils three-storey townhomes at EdenWylde

Cardel Homes makes a return to Ottawa’s west end with the unveiling Feb. 14 of its new three-storey townhomes at EdenWylde in Stittsville.

Called Terrace Towns, it’s the first time the builder has had three-storey, back-to-back towns in its lineup and, with a starting price of $534,000, sales manager Betsy Leeks expects them to be popular.

“They’re going to be really nice. I’m very excited about them,” she says.

EdenWylde is one of several communities being developed around Shea and Fernbank roads. Initially a mix of townhomes, semi-detached & single bungalows and two-storey single-family homes by Cardel, Tartan Homes and Tamarack Homes, much of the project has already been built and sales at the site had been paused for the past few months. But a parcel remained right at the corner of Shea and Fernbank roads that will be home to these towns.

Tamarack will also return with its own version of three-storey towns, although was not ready to launch as early as Cardel.

Cardel is releasing 42 of its 56 homes to start. There are two floor plans: the Azure with 1,407 square feet and two bedrooms; and the Sapphire at 1,650 square feet, which comes as either a two-bedroom or a three-bedroom.

The Azure is the smaller of the two floor plans, with 1,407 square feet.

All homes include two full bathrooms (with double sinks) plus a powder room, a single-car garage, balcony, nine-foot ceilings on the main living level, quartz counters, soft-close cupboards, three appliances (an intro offer includes a stackable washer and dryer), air conditioning, laundry on the sleeping level and more.

The ground floor is spacious, with a flex space that’s ideal for those working from home and walk-in foyer closet, and although the floor plans on the website do not show it, there are low-ceilinged basements that house mechanical systems and offer good space for storage.

Leeks sees them appealing to first-time buyers, roommates, investors, young families, downsizers and singles.

“These are very livable homes. Nowhere do you feel cramped. It’s really just about offering that less-maintenance product at a price point that’s affordable to many.”

Initial occupancy is expected in early 2027.
