There are multiple developments on the go in the south end of Stittsville and Idylea is one of them, with homes being built by Tartan Homes and Tamarack Homes. The development will see about 600 homes when finished, along with parks, a storm water pond and a future school.
There are currently five model homes to see, two semi-detached and three single-family homes all by Tartan, with more models by Tamarack expected to open soon. Here’s what you’ll see for now if you check out the Idylea model homes.
This home is a two-storey semi-detached that comes with 2,358 sq. ft. and 2.5 bathrooms. It includes an open mud room, walk-in pantry, living room fireplace, second-floor loft and upstairs laundry.
There’s also the option for a fourth bedroom (and third full bathroom) in the basement, which is not shown in the model, although it is finished.
Watch for fun decor items such as the funky use of moulding accents in the mud room, powder room and living room, the glass railing insert upstairs and wallpaper choices in the secondary bedrooms.
The Ficus is a second semi-detached at Idylea. It comes with 2,576 sq. ft., three-plus bedrooms and 2.5-plus bathrooms. The foyer opens into the dining room, which boasts a geometric feature wall that provides privacy to the kitchen and living room at the back of the home. There’s also a handy opening between the dining room and kitchen.
This home has plenty of dining space: along with the dining room there is bar seating at the island and there’s a breakfast nook to one side. The living room also features a fireplace banked by built-in cabinetry on either side.
There’s more fun with geometric wall moulding upstairs and, similar to the Ivy, a glass railing insert, upstairs laundry and a loft area. And this model does show the optional basement and bathroom in the finished basement.
The Sirius is one of three single-family home models and the only one that is not a new floor plan, although it does have some tweaks to differentiate it from an earlier model at Findlay Creek.
The home comes with 2,635 sq. ft. and four bedrooms, with the option for two more — there’s a loft on the second floor that can become one of the extra bedrooms and a sixth can be added in the basement.
This home is also built to net zero standards, an option Tartan hopes to offer in the near future.
A new floor plan, the Brighton is a three-bedroom single with 3,246 sq. ft. that’s styled for a buyer who appreciates a bit of opulence. This large single sits on a 38-foot lot and has an optional main-floor guest quite that can accommodate multigenerational living.
The model also shows the optional prep kitchen that makes entertaining a breeze. Other options done in the model include finishing the basement bathroom and adding a fireplace in the rec room.
The largest of the single models by Tartan, the Coventry comes with 3,525 sq. ft. and four bedrooms. There’s also an option for two more bedrooms, one in place of the second floor loft and one in the basement.
This is a new floor plan with a huge open-concept kitchen, family room and dining room spanning the back half of the main floor that’s perfect for family gathering and entertaining. There’s also a formal living room at the front that can be enclosed with French doors for a private home office.
