Westwood model homes

Westwood is a planned community of townhomes, singles, bungalows and condos in central Stittsville by builders Claridge, Richcraft and Tamarack. Claridge and Tamarack have models on site, while Richcraft is selling from its Fernbank Crossing sales centre.

Claridge has five single-family home models and five townhome models to see. Tamarack has two single-family homes. Here are the Westwood model homes.

Sable, Tamarack Homes

The Sable is a two-storey single with 2,360 square feet and four bedrooms. The main floor has an open-concept kitchen, dining room and great room, with a separate office.

The home is designed with an appealing mix of black, grey, white and earth tones.

St. James II, Tamarack Homes

The St. James II is also a two-storey single by Tamarack.

Where the Sable has an emphasis on dark tones, the St. James is much lighter, using whites, light earth tones and plenty of shiplap and panelling for a farmhouse flavour.

The home is 3,190 square feet with four bedrooms and separation between the formal living and dining room and the kitchen and family room. There’s also a main-floor office for working from home.

Aubrey, Claridge Homes

The Aubrey is a two-storey single on a 37-foot lot with 2,125 square feet. It comes with four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

The main floor includes a roomy mudroom/laundry room combo, formal dining room and open-concept living room and kitchen for comfortable family living. It also includes 575 square feet of finished basement space.

Baker, Claridge Homes

The Baker is a two-storey single on a 37-foot lot. It comes with 2,155 square feet, four bedrooms and 2.5 baths.

Main-floor features include a sweeping staircase, walk-in foyer closet, main-floor laundry/mud room and open-concept kitchen, dining room and living room. In the living room, the gas fireplace is framed by full-length windows and a wall niche adds interest.

Upstairs, the master suite takes up the back of the home and is separated from the secondary bedrooms by the main bathroom for added privacy. A curved hallway mimics the angle of the staircase to add character.

The finished rec room in the basement adds 620 square feet of living space.

Bayfield, Claridge Homes

The Bayfield is Claridge’s smallest bungalow and it comes with 1,410 square feet, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It sits on a 37-foot lot and includes a 600-square-foot finished basement.

The layout creates a separate dining room before reaching the kitchen and living room at the back of the home and the laundry room is handy to the kitchen. Although there is no closed-off mudroom, access to the garage is set tucked away down a short hallway with a closet at the end.

This is the first time Claridge has built a bungalow model.

Lockport, Claridge Homes

The Lockport is one of Claridge’s largest two-storey singles at 3,500 square feet. It comes with five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and sits on a 45-foot lot.

The layout boasts an open-to-above dining room that marks the centre of the main floor. There are separate living and family rooms, a main-floor office at the front and library at the rear, combined mudroom and laundry room and large kitchen with breakfast nook.

Upstairs, the bedrooms ring the open space around the dining room. Four have their own walk-in closets, two share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and the five-piece master ensuite includes his-and-hers vanities and separate shower and tub.

The basement has a finished area of 730 square feet.

Sharbot, Claridge Homes

The Sharbot is one of Claridge’s larger two-storey singles. It has 3,160 square feet, four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and sits on a 45-foot lot. It also comes with a generous 855 square feet of finished space in the basement.

This is definitely an entertainer’s home. the entrance and foyer are grand, opening to a black-and-white Art Deco-themed main floor. There’s a large home office at the front of the home, a large combined mudroom/laundry room and a two-sided fireplace dividing the dining room and great room.

Upstairs the master suite stretches across the back of the home with a double-door entry. There’s also a bonus room with cathedral ceiling that makes for a handy second-floor family room.

Whitney, Claridge Homes

Claridge says the Whitney is its best-selling townhome. One of its smaller townhomes, it comes with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 1,825 square feet.

The flexible main floor shows both a breakfast nook and a dining room, along with the living room, but the open-concept layout means the spaces can be used however they’re needed. And the central island with breakfast bar provides a handy entertaining space.

The second floor sees the three bedrooms (including a walk-in closet and three-piece ensuite in the master) and the main bathroom. The laundry room is located in the basement, where the finished rec room adds another 345 square feet.

The model is designed with warm wood flooring, soft grey walls and nautical-inspired decor that includes a variety of textures for visual interest. The kitchen boasts floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall dark cabinetry paired with white Calcutta quartz counters.

Penrose, Claridge Homes

The Penrose town comes as either an interior or an end unit. It features 2,315 square feet, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

Unusual for a town, it boasts a mud room off the garage. On the main floor, the open-concept layout includes a roomy wraparound kitchen, dining room and great room with fireplace.

Upstairs, there’s room for double sinks in the main bathroom, the laundry room, and a master suite with five-piece ensuite, meaning there is a separate shower and standalone tub plus double vanity.

Downstairs, the finished rec room adds almost 500 square feet (495 to be exact) to the living space.

Hardy, Claridge Homes

The Hardy is a two-storey townhome with 1,765 square feet, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. It also comes with 375 square feet of finished basement space.

The main floor is open concept with a trendy dark kitchen that adds drama.

Upstairs, the master suite covers the back of the house, with walk-in closet and compact ensuite, while the other two bedrooms are at the front. In between, the main bathroom boasts a double vanity and includes the linen closet for convenience.

Brazeau, Claridge Homes

The Brazeau is also a three-bedroom townhome, but it has more square footage — 2,065 plus 390 in the basement.

The Brazeau offers more separation between the dining room and the kitchen, but the main floor is still fairly open concept. The galley-style kitchen makes efficient use of the space, adding a wall pantry to the breakfast nook and a half wall for an island feel.

Carlton, Claridge Homes

The Carlton is a rare double-car garage end unit townhome that comes with 2,235 square feet, four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.

As a corner unit, the front entry is on the side with a contained foyer that leads to the open-concept main floor. The elongated kitchen island makes for easy entertaining and the living room comes with a gas fireplace.

The home includes a second-floor laundry, a linen closet in the master ensuite and an extra large fourth bedroom.
